Backcountry Safety Strategies Presentation – 1/3/2014

| January 2, 2014

I’m giving a presentation on backcountry skiing safety strategies tomorrow night, Jan 3rd at 6:30 at The Sports Loft (4678 S. Highland Drive).  The bulk of it is on avalanche avoidance and includes some lowlights from my past, as well as some of my current thoughts on living to ski another day.  As most Wasatchians are already savvy about pits and facets, I’ve tried to branch out and discuss some of my personal philosophies, especially in regards to steep skiing.

Hey Andrew, since I live in California was not able to attend your presentation. It’d be great to read in your blog some of your safety strategies and “personal philosophies, especially in regards to steep skiing.”

Stay warm! I wish we had the same wave of cold here, along with some snow.

    I’ll second that.

Love to hear you give this talk in Colorado. Or if you’d post a video. Thanks.
