Surprisingly Good Skiing!

| December 5, 2008 | 9 Comments
Despite reports of only five inches of new snow, the skiing this morning was great.  Maybe even beyond great, in a stable, face-shot, knee deep kind of way.  We found a chute that had additional depth from the sides sluffing into it.

If this is what five inches skis like, I can't wait for a ten inch storm!

  1. Nice to see Tommy doing his job.

Nice shots. How “user frindly” is that G9? Also have you skied anything on the PC side of the ridge?

  3. Hart says:

looks like you guys found the stash! i’m jealous. i’m back in seattle waiting for snow with a sad frown on my face. i’ll probably have to head to rainier again this weekend.

Doug – this is my third Canon camera and they share many of the same menu options, so I think it is very user friendly. Like many modern products, the owner’s manual is bigger than the actual product and I’m sure you could dig into the technical details for months, but just as far as picking it up and shooting, it does a great job.

Hi Dustin – We had to set that crash shot up with Tommy and shoot it over and over to get it just right. :)

  6. Fred says:

Looks like suicide. Good times! Turns are good out in CO now as well. Cheers

  7. Michael says:

Looks great for only 5 inches something typically only virgins get pumped about. Except for the glorious sunsets winter is bleak around here(Mt. Hood) snow-wise.

  8. Chris says:

    Andrew,
I hear you’re coming to Seattle this week. It’s finally starting to snow! What’s the plan for thursday’s cameo at the MH store? Will you show slides? I’m very interested to meet you and celebrate snow falling in the mountains. Will there be an after party brewski anywhere?

  9. Andrew says:

Hi Chris – The Seattle show is on Dec 11th at 6:00pm in the new Mountain Hardwear store. It sounds like I’ll be in the back of the store showing some slides, although it should be a bit more informal than a regular slide show. In any case, I’m looking for to it, as well as meeting you. Please stop by!
