Hi Andrew,
Great reading on your blog and in your articles! YOu have been prolific and you have a great edgy voice.
I don’t know if you remember me — I wrote a VOWS column about your wedding in The New York Times.
I now write another column for the NYT focussing on couples who once appeared in VOWS, a kind of alumni notes in which I report on where/how you are now. Would you be interested in being interviewed? Every January, my editor suggests your name as a good one for a wintertime story. I see you guys have a daughter…and that you are still out there adventuring. Do you have any interest in being interviewed for a catch-up column? The column is about the same size as VOWS, with a photo of you guys now.
Hope you’re getting more snow than us. Every day, the forecast says snow and every day, it’s sunny and warm. Still hoping.
Lois Brady
Andrew,
Please speak up about the proposed Snowbird roller coaster that will deface mt, superior and hwy 210. This proposal is an abomination. Snowbird needs to feel the heat of the stupidity that they are proposing in every way.
Anything I can do to help. Let me know.
I’ve been wondering how to get in touch with you … now I know.
Jay Beyer is a mutual friend who told me that you MUni.
Don’t know if you’d be interested in joining us, but I’m getting a small group of riders together this Friday & Saturday (8/19 & 8/20) for a couple of outings in the Wasatch. See the following link for details: http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89824.
Hi Andrew, I was reading some reviews on the K2 Coomback and Wayback. I see you wrote a review on the Waybacks. I was wondering if you prefered one ski over the other? I am about 6″0″ 185 and a pretty aggressive skier. I have been on Killowatts but was looking for a new ski with a flat tail. Hope to run into you one of these days in the Wasatch if we ever get any snow this year. Cheers, Jack
Hi Jack – Since I spend 95% of my ski time touring, I prefer the Wayback over the Coomback as it is lighter and smaller. A smaller ski means smaller skins and that you can drive it with a lighter boot, so you get an overall much lighter package. But, coming from a Killowatt, the Coomback might be a better transition as it is a similar ski. The Wayback might be too big a shock to your system after coming off of the Killowatt.
Hi Chet – I’ve never met Reudi or skied at SMC, but know that he has spent many days per year, over the period of many, many years taking groups of people into big terrain without incident. I doubt that he’s some sort of reckless cowboy. The point of that comment was that even with a 99.95% safety record, it still means you have a .05% chance and when an accident happens, it is a fine line between having a close call and tragedy.

Andrew…………… interesting, to say the least, when you refer to Reudi’s safety record as “near perfect”
